These hand painted alphabet stones are a versatile educational toy. They can be used inside, outside, in the sandpit, bath or anywhere you like.

The letters are painted in Queensland print font, which is taught across all Queensland schools, so children can recognise the correct formation of the letters. The set comes with a cotton drawstring carry bag and 26 alphabet stones A-Z. These are hand painted stones. Each set is unique, varying in colours, shape and size.

Activity suggestions:

• group into tall letters and short letters

• say the sounds of each letter and a word that starts with that sound

• find objects around the house for each letter

• sound out words using each stone to spell the word

• talk about voice on and voice off sounds (s and z, f and v, t and d, k and g) and pair the letters while making the sounds

• write the 26 letters scattered on a piece of paper and have your child put the correct stone on top of each letter

• Put them in alphabetical order

• Find the letters of your child’s name
