‘Admiration’ was born from a photo I captured at the Margert Olley and Ben Quilty Exhibition in Brisbane called ‘A Generous Life’. I captured this woman completely captivated, admiring the detail and feeling of the artwork. I was inspired to create this artwork in appreciation and to show my gratitude to the arts and all creatives in the world. This piece has further inspired me to build a body of work called ‘Admiration’ that aims to capture the experience of the viewer in the scene, admiring the beauty around them. This piece was selected as a finalist in the Queensland Figurative Art Prize and also received a commendation.

This piece is painted with professional, colourfast oil paints on a gallery wrapped 100% cotton canvas. It is finished with a varnish to protect the paint from dust and contaminants. It comes framed in raw eucalyptus timber with hanging hardware installed.
